a room with a view and a velvet painting
MoMA Rain Room, 12 May 2013.
From MoMA’s website:
“A field of falling water that pauses wherever a human body is detected, Rain Room offers visitors the experience of controlling the rain. Known for their distinctive approach to contemporary digital practice, Random International’s experimental projects come alive through audience interaction—and Rain Room is their largest and most ambitious to date. The work invites visitors to explore the roles that science, technology, and human ingenuity can play in stabilizing our environment. Using digital technology, Rain Room creates a carefully choreographed downpour, simultaneously encouraging people to become performers on an unexpected stage and creating an intimate atmosphere of contemplation.”
how to protect yourself from someone trying to rob you
- look them in the eyes and tell them you know their father was never there for them
- share an emotional hug
- during the emotional hug reach into their back pocket and take their wallet haha trolled
I have an odd question
does anyone know if they make swimsuits for transmen who haven’t gotten top surgery yet?
I wear swim trunks, I just didn’t know if there was an option for a top other than having to wear a tshirt or tank top.
underworks does
I’ve heard some bad things about the Underworks 918/908, mostly that they don’t bind any better than your typical rash guard. Might work for smaller chests, but I personally wouldn’t risk it for the cost (with the size of my chest.)
I do the “older binder under a tank top” routine and it has worked fine so far.
“This a photograph taken from the teenager (shirtless guy) named Austin Schafer’s Twitter account, of a kid being tied up and beaten by upper classmen at Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho.
This is a recent photograph and one where the school’s authorities have not taken action yet. Remember this kid’s name and repost this picture.
The Neanderthal trash who are bullying him deserve to have this picture plastered all over the Internet for prospective college admission offices to see so their career pinnacle can be asking me which kind of soup I want at Olive Garden.
If you’ve been a victim of bullying or know someone who has, please repost.”Signal Boost
Dang I live 5 minutes away from there

Seems there is some debate about whether it was bullying. I’m not gonna weigh in, but check out the link.

This is why I hate when “lesbian” groups on Tumblr offer “ftm” tags for their selfie posts (though I will say I haven’t seen much of them lately, so I guess that is a good thing.)
FTM transsexuals are not a type of woman. They aren’t “super butch” women, and saying so is an insult to butch/non-stereotypically “feminine” women and genderqueer persons (some of whom may be trans, themselves, but non-binary). Trans men are just men with different genetics who may or may not have non-standard primary and secondary sex characteristics.
Having a certain genetic or social background does not create a particular social outlook, personality, or body shape, and both socialization and testosterone change things.
…Mind you, I am not issuing a carte blanche to trans men who act like idiots or assholes—jerkfaces are jerkfaces, full stop—but a man being “born female” isn’t born with some magical carte rose, either.
Transsexual and transgender men are rude and kind, meek, mild, sweet, aggressive, impulsive, and even creepy. They are svelte and chubby and muscular, shaved down, buzzed up, and hairy as hell, and may be hoping to be any of the aforementioned things. They are from every cultural background you can think of, and adjusted (or not) in different ways.
We’re just dudes. No magic power or pixie dust included.
It was past midnight and I decided to head over to the library to return a book (Stephen Whittle’s The Transgender Debate) I had borrowed. Since I had read the book in its entirety on the weekend, I decided to check out the other transgender-related books. I came across two, Second Skins (Jay Prosser) and this book.
I flicked through the latter and a note dropped out of the book, this is what it said. My mood had was awfully low, anxiety levels rising and falling and, on top of that, my masculine appearance continues to sadden me. I don’t know who wrote this but thank you, I sometimes need a reminder.
I want to do something like this, not exactly this, but something general to let any possible person in my quaint little town who might be perusing the stacks know that they are not alone…. A card with a message of support and local resources, maybe?
If you were a child of the 90’s and you didn’t want to do the Super Toy Run, you are lying.
Music c/o Christophilus and the playlist he made on my Spotify that one time…

My Tumblr is supposed to be mostly reblogs. Why all these personal posts lately?
